Pharmacist recommendations for men's health

Your life may change, but you shouldn't have to! Whether you're faced with erectile dysfunction, prostate disease
or other physical changes, you can take an active part in enhancing the quality of your life.

Your Nutritional Wellness

Did you know that your need for vitamins and minerals is different from women's? You need more B vitamins, more magnesium and less iron than women. You also need more calories and protein to help your active life style. Vitamins A, C, and E, zinc, and essential fatty acids are necessary for healthy thyroid, adrenal and immune system function. When you take the right supplements, eat right and exercise regularly, you will find yourself more active, with more energy, and find that you can better deal with our stressful world.

Your Sexual Wellness

Sexual wellness is closely related to overall health. Your mental health, stress factors in your life, heredity, illness, mood disorders
and medications you may be taking (such as tranquilizers, antidepressants, antihypertensives, antihistamines) - all of these can play a part in erectile dysfunction.

We offer:

  • A full line of all available prescription medications to treat this specific problem.
  • Bio-identical hormones. Freedom Pharmacy offers specially compounded, bio-identical testosterone cream. This testosterone is identical in chemical structure to your own hormones, but is derived from plants. Our testosterone cream is compounded from your doctor's prescription just for you, under strictly sterile conditions. Hormone therapy can also improve your cardiovascular circulation!
  • Esteem™ Vacuum Therapy Device

Your Prostate Health

Most men will experience some problems with their prostate as they age, most commonly enlargement of the prostate, or prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). BPH is caused by normal changes in your hormones as you age - specifically, decreased testosterone, and increased estrogen. BPH can cause a decrease in your urinary flow, in turn causing you increased urinary frequency, frequent nighttime urination, and reduced flow of urination.

The symptoms of BPH are the same as those of prostate cancer, but having BPH does NOT mean that you have prostate cancer. We recommend that all men have an annual physical exam and a PSA test (prostate-specific antigen), to rule out the presence of prostate cancer. There are nutritional supplements that you can take which will increase your prostate's health. Zinc and saw palmetto are two which can aid the enzyme that converts testosterone

How Stress Can Impact Your Health

Stress is your body's natural reaction to the demands you place on it - both good and bad. When you're stressed, your adrenal glands kick into overtime, your heartbeat and blood pressure rise and your blood sugar levels increase. This is the classic "fight or flight" reaction that our primitive ancestors needed to survive. Unfortunately, today's stressors, such as our jobs and our families, can subject us to this type of stress for prolonged periods of time. For men, especially, it has been documented that too much stress can result in cardiac disease and hypertension.

Freedom Pharmacy offers nutritional supplements designed to aid your body's natural immune system to fight the effects of stress in your everyday life, along with a full array of prescription medications to help fight hypertension and cardiac disease.
