Information
about the 'Minnesota protocol' of using the vest:
This
is a particular way of using the vest, utilizing various speeds
and pressures that targets both large and small airways for
maximum effectiveness, designed by Dr. Warwick (inventor of
the vest technology and renowned CF doctor from U.of Minn.)
More about this can be found at this site:

Everyone's
clinic will have their own recommendations about the best age
to start the vest.
In general, it is based on the child reaching a certain size
(chest circumference) to start and many kids seem to reach the
size to fit one as young toddlers. Talk to your dr and rt about
it if they don't bring it up with you! :) It can be so helpful
in gaining compliance as well as saving some time, since many
of the nebs can be done along with the vest (which can be harder
to manage with cpt.)
